For the past few years I’ve been using this hashtag on my posts… it’s much more than just a random hashtag, it is a mindset, an approach to flourishing in the southern tip of Africa. An ode to - moenie worry nie, ons sal ‘ok’ wees, vasbyt - môre is nog ‘n dag! With so many friends that have moved to the rest of the world, and all really doing well, we sometimes forget that it is still an immense privilege to still be here, and flourishing! Great weather, beautiful people, lots of challenges (but that keeps us sharp)! Braaivleis, potholes, vriende, taxis, Seattle cappuccinos, loadshitting, family, Jacob-Julius-Steentjie-Cyril en al hul maatjies… At most we each get 70, 80 and maybe 90 years, you have one innings - there is no other place that I would rather be!
