So I grabbed him a happy meal at McDonald’s. It wasn’t my first choice but he’s a kid and that’s what he wanted. I walked in and grabbed a table, he had his happy meal in hand, nobody said a word to us about it. We sit down, a server came up and took our drink order. When the server came back to take out order I asked if it was ok if he ate his food that wasn’t theirs and she said it shouldn’t be an issue but she would double check with a manager. I did order him some fries though. Not long after that the manager did end up coming by and told me that my nephew couldn’t eat anything that wasn’t purchased there, no outside food or drinks allowed. He of course claimed it was a health code thing and that he wasn’t about to be liable if my nephew got sick eating his happy meal there. I told him that I didn’t see how he could but I understood his position. What happened next perplexed me because I had already told him I was okay with their decision but he then asked me to leave. I didn’t want to create a scene not was I ready to have an argument in front of the nephew who was still pretty young at the time. I ended up leaving on my own accord. What I didn’t get was there wasn’t a sign prohibiting it, maybe it was common sense but even at my aunts restaurant we didn’t care if kids brought their own food, it happens allot because kids are finicky. But to ask us to leave because my nephew didn’t eat seafood at the time to me was unreasonable.

I’ve been at the Waffle House during the whole high egg price period we all went through. From what I remember the restaurant didn’t even raise the prices much at all but that didn’t stop a customer from bringing in their own eggs and bacon. The customer was talking to the waitress as if she’s done this before and the funniest thing to me about the whole thing was that she expected to only pay for the toast and drinks. She thought by bringing in her own eggs and bacon that the cooks could cook it for her and wouldn’t charge her for it. The restaurant flat out refused and told her it was against health code. But she wouldn’t take no for an answer. We all watched in shock as she tried to push her way into the kitchen holding her eggs and bacon so that she could do it herself. I remember saying something to her about why didn’t she just cook it at home. She then started yelling back and telling us she didn’t care, and that we needed to mind our own business. The restaurant ended up calling the cops and she was eventually removed, but not before throwing her eggs at the workers and cursing the establishment for not doing her request.
