People are surprised by these files but cannibalism was a regular part of chattel slavery. They were eating their slaves. I wish basic US history classes didn’t condense mass enslavement down to just picking cotton. They were EATING them. Literally boiling fat down to make oil as holiday gifts after a lynching.
