When John hit his $2M+ Apex payout I had reached out via DMs. He told me about his divorce and needing to parent his child alone.. but didn't mention anything about losing both his parents. I'm not sure if it's the same for him... But I lost both my parents to cancer over the course of two decades.. most of my adult life I've had to deal with watching two of the closest people to me deteriorate in real time... both being terminally diagnosed. There's something about losing people close to you that REALLY puts things into perspective quickly. As a trader, this sent me into a whole different realm. I no longer wanted to make money. I wanted to buy back my TIME. Money and financial freedom just becomes that vehicle. I stopped caring so much about the P&L... and what that P&L actually resulted in.. More time to spend on your own terms. My biggest regret will always be not taking trading seriously enough during those years to be ABLE to spend more time with my father. I would trade the $2M+ payout for just 1 more day with him... no questions asked. So it begs the question... What are you really trading for? When that becomes very clear, you stop caring so much about every win and loss.. and start following your process with structure and discipline. Cheers @_JohnAndreas I'm sure your parents are proud.
