Henry Yao — BC NDP Henry Yao has spent many years building relationships within the community. He has been actively involved in local schools and churches, including volunteering to wash dishes at church events. He has established a strong support base among labour unions, churches, and the Taiwanese community. In a previous provincial election in the same riding, he also defeated Sin Yung Lo. 2. Sacha Peter — BC Conservatives Sacha Peter has strong connections within the Conservative Party. A financial expert, he is known for his ability to turn financial situations around and improve the fiscal performance of public-sector organizations. 3. Lawrence Chen — People’s Party of Canada West (CanWest) Lawrence Chen is a former shooting coach with Beijing’s shooting team who immigrated to Richmond in the 1990s. He was among the earliest firearms licensing instructors in the area and has spent many years building relationships within the Mandarin-speaking community. He has served as a firearms licensing instructor for countless new immigrants from mainland China. 4. Calvin Dang — BC Greens Calvin Dang represents the entrepreneurial immigrant community from mainland China. He has extensive experience running businesses in Richmond and has provided employment opportunities for many people.
