Be Rich Now is live on Kickstarter.
Writing a book is a wild ride.
As high performers, we're wired to seek asymmetric returns. We seek leverage in all that we do.
We continually ask:
What is the quickest, most efficient path to get the desired outcome?
And in business, or athletic pursuits, or many other areas of our lives, this approach serves us well.
In many ways, the last three years of my life have been a masterclass in unlearning that conditioning.
Pouring your heart and soul into something for the better part of three years with no payoff, no feedback loop, no indication of whether it's working, is a particular type of mental dismantling for a recovering type-A overachieving fighter pilot.
There were more times than I care to admit where I lay awake late at night and questioned everything. Is all of this even worth it?
And when you write a book, a lot of people ask, "What is the outcome that you want from this book?"
I've thought about that question a lot over the past few months.
And where I've arrived in pondering is that I already have it.
While I thought I was working on this book, the truth is that this book was working on me.
Writing it changed me. I had to confront every insecurity, every doubt, and every fear that I had no idea I was even carrying.
But the why was enough to face all of it.
And that why is simple:
I'm deeply passionate about my craft. But until now, access to my work required an investment. While I have a deep conviction that the ROI on that investment is manyfold (and have plentiful case studies to back that claim), the fact remains that the investment creates a barrier to entry.
This book is my way of sharing everything I've learned the hard way in the last decade for as close to free as I possibly can.
And that's the real beauty of books. You can learn from the greatest minds in history for twenty bucks and a few hours of your time. That's completely mind-blowing to me.
While I would not dare to place myself in that category, the idea that I can share my life's work for less than you would spend on lunch at a fast casual restaurant is just so damn cool.
So that's it. That's the whole pitch.
If anything I've written here over the years has resonated with you, I hope that you'll buy a copy (or a few.)
I offer my deepest and most sincere gratitude to you for being a part of my journey. It means more to me than you could know. You are the reason I get to do what I do.
Of all the lessons I learned in the process, perhaps the most impactful is learning to let go. I've done my part. I gave it my all.
What happens from here isn't up to me.
And while that's not exactly comfortable, it's strangely liberating.
PS - If this post (or anything I've written here over the years) resonated, do me a solid and retweet to help ensure this book lands in the right hands.
