I took this photo on May 17, 2025, the evening before Dovie's ventilator failed him a second time. He'd gone to Mass and confession for the last time minutes before. "You must be really proud of me," he said, holding his piece in the NYPost. I was. Still am. Dovie was a remarkable man--brilliant, faithful, brave. He suffered heroically and didn't complain. We loved him. Still do. May he rest in eternal peace.
