Just closed my $TSLA position for a +22% gain in about a month. I’m still extremely bullish on this name, but I closed for two reasons: 1. The internal structure remains bearish. We’re still printing lower highs on the daily and weekly timeframes. Within my framework, I expect a potential rejection between $380 and $420. That could lead to another selloff into the institutional buy zone, where I’d look to go long again. 2. Profit velocity was strong. We reached a solid profit in a short period of time. I’m comfortable leaving some upside on the table. I have plenty of other trades to focus on. If $TSLA pulls a 2020-style move and I miss a triple-digit gain, that’s fine. I’m sticking to my rules. To be clear, I’m not bearish on $TSLA over the longer term. Fundamentally, I believe Tesla’s time is coming. But I need to follow my process. Over the next 12 to 24 months, I could easily see $TSLA back at $520 to $600.
