🇧🇷 On October 30, the operating requirements for every virtual asset provider in Brazil change. From that date, BCB-supervised institutions may not transact with a provider that is neither authorized nor in the authorization process. For companies already operating in the country, filing the application is what keeps them within the regulated financial perimeter. Then a more important challenge begins: recurring reporting. CADOC 5711 is due every business day and reports custody positions by client, asset and network, plus required accounting balances. CADOC 5710 is due monthly and covers proof of reserves and staking by asset. Both are sequential, meaning the previous base date has to be accepted before the next can be received. If a file is rejected, the reporting chain stops until the issue is resolved. DeCripto adds a separate monthly obligation and is already in effect. The difficult part is the data underneath those reports. The same client position may need to support segregation, 5711, 5710 and DeCripto while reconciling across custodians, exchanges, wallets and internal books.
