How is it victim blaming if you agree Politico should’ve included this detail? That’s the only point. They had the information and withheld it. That’s wrong.
Obviously no text message justifies sexual assault, so Politico should have included it since they had it. It’s a major story, no time to selectively leave out details that will obviously come out later anyway.

Here comes the victim blaming.
Yes, I think Politico should've included this detail, but it makes Platner's actions look WORSE, not better. Basically, she texted him, then when he drunkenly misread her text as a sexual invitation, she told him NOT to come over and he did anyway.
