Transportation in Gaza should not mean risking a child’s life. This mother describes something that has happened far too many times. Her children were traveling on an open cart when an airstrike struck nearby, sending shrapnel into one child’s head. Support please: Just this past Sunday, one of The Sameer Project’s buses was also close to an attack. But because our buses are enclosed, with a roof and glass windows, the injuries were thankfully limited and superficial. It could have been much worse. This is why our transportation program matters. Our buses do more than move people from one place to another. They provide relief, dignity, protection, and the reassurance that we will do everything we can to get passengers to hospitals, schools, markets, work, and home as safely as possible. Families in Gaza should not have to choose between reaching where they need to go and exposing themselves to even more danger.
