If you believe in “fairness,” apply the same standard to yourself.
You can’t condemn a behavior in someone else and suddenly turn it into a moral exemption when you’re the one doing it. Accountability isn’t a buffet where we only pick the rules we like.
And on emotional pain: perhaps the problem isn’t that people don’t feel pain it’s that some families were taught to recognize suffering only when there’s a visible bruise.
Not every wound leaves a mark. Some just learn to stay quiet.
