Not sure if it is normal or it is only after the Ceuta incident, but more than half the passengers on my flight to Melilla were in police-like uniforms. Iberia sells the flights between mainland Spain and Melilla under the Iberia Regional, which outsources the services to Air Nostrum, which further outsources the flights to Malta-based Mel Air. Passengers board the ATR 72 through the rear door, and the rows were numbered from back to front. I picked seat 2F, the window seat in the last row on the right. After takeoff, a flight attendant served me a complimentary cup of coffee. The flight from Melilla to Málaga took just under an hour. Upon arrival, I took an Uber to Universal Aviation at the airport’s general aviation terminal, where I boarded a Pilatus PC-24, registration D-CSLS, for Dublin. Several European leaders would be using Dublin Airport, so it took some effort to secure a landing slot between their flights. The flight from Málaga to Dublin took about three hours.
