This has not only had years to happen but has never happened. GabAI, infinite chances to produce infinite finetunes of open models, other than a handful of small wins like “we made a racist gatorade with midjourney branding that tastes like cum because of all the salt we put in it”, and the Will Stancil Show, which aren’t model-level innovations but small consumer projects downstream of AI tooling, reactionaries are overwhelmingly net consumers of AI and not really contributors. They are paypigs to liberals or hardware manufacturers. Then of course you have the Gundo people who are generally too Christ-minded to be illiberal either. Even the guys who make guided bombs are less racist than the 4chan folks who fantasize about creating a system someday which will say it or whatever it is they want idk. The most “based” people out there aren’t making reactionary AI systems. They are making open source software as an alternative to centralized control. And they are all pretty demographically diverse and generally “leave politics out of it”. Illiberalism, ultimately, hurts this kind of innovation.
