One interesting angle I hadn’t considered for @token_works FWAir launched NFTs is that when a collection is dropped this way, the gacha can allow the market to act as an arbiter of the collection’s circulating supply. With a traditional mint, an artist typically has to choose the supply upfront. If it doesn’t mint out quickly, the drop can sometimes be perceived as a failure, and the artist may end up closing the mint or burning the remaining supply. With an FWAir launch, like the one Sterling Crispin is running right now, the full collection is minted upfront, backed and deposited into the protocol. From there, it can reach collectors as quickly or gradually as demand dictates: the more the people like them, the more the people spin. Meanwhile, backers earn fees for as long as their pieces remain in the gacha, and spinners get an evolving variety of prizes to choose from (or can always opt out and take ETH or $FWA instead.)
