I was in @Techstars in 2015, and they helped us tremendously when we were starting our business. I will always be grateful for that. BUT, @TIME ranking Techstars #1# and Y Combinator #4# is deeply misleading and just horrible reporting. The methodology is essentially clickbait and it's wild.... 85% of the score comes from alumni surveys, with the accelerators asked to distribute the survey to their own alumni. Only 10% comes from track record (the only thing that matters), based on each program’s five most successful companies. The remaining 5% comes from "experts"... I would LOVE to meet these experts. This is not a ranking of America’s best accelerators. It is an alumni satisfaction survey presented as an outcomes ranking. And where are @spc @hf0? They are below MassChallenge and Tampa Bay Wave? Honestly this is just embarrassing journalism....
