To be fair I haven't watched the whole thing but if you have to say "i don't believe in one-world government" and then say "but ... AI should be regulated globally" well... I'm gonna have trouble taking you seriously.

If I were an alien and saw Earth's bricolage of ideology; our delightful tapestry of market power, cultural norms, and political bodies; our ceaseless but imperfect struggle toward harmonious pluralism; and our rejection of unified control, sanitization, and regulation, I think I'd say, "Wow, these people, divided as they are, also developed brilliant AI...!?" Well, I'd be much happier than meeting the Borg, or anything so homogeneous as a globally regulated technological society. We would be at once less threatening and intensely more interesting.

This is very clever framing from @ianbremmer on where we’re at with AI right now. It may one day exceed human intelligence and bring about a level of abundance we’ve never seen before. But that won’t happen if we can’t find a way to regulate it. And for it to work, we'll need buy-in from the public sector, the private sector, and countries whose priorities don’t usually align.
