Conan O'Brien exposes the brutal truth: everyday internet creators have completely destroyed the late-night TV monopoly "Now you're competing with... hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of millions of people are making funny videos" "NBC in particular capitalized on it... you have Steve Allen, then you have Jack Paar, then you have Johnny Carson... and it's a monopoly... and it's a giant machine that fires out cash" "HBO, Cinemax, these other things are coming up... it's a little like Detroit and automobiles. Like, the things just started to change" "For years we were working really hard to do something innovative and creative at night. Now you're competing with, how many people in America are posting videos every day, or worldwide?" "If you do the math, nine of them are going to be one of the funniest things you've ever seen. Those come out every day. That's what you're competing against."
