WSIS Forum 2026 | Bringing Women to the Forefront of Digital Policy During the WSIS Forum 2026, the thematic session 'Women Leading the Digital Future: Shaping Policy Together,' hosted by the ITU's Women Leadership in the Public ICT Sector (WLICT) initiative, convened international representatives from the EU, ITU, Women Political Leaders (WPL), the Ministry of Women's Affairs of Cambodia, and GIZ. Notable attendees included H.E. Mr. Michele Cervone d'Urso (Deputy Permanent Representative of the EU), H.E. Dr. Kry Nallis (Secretary of State, Ministry of Women's Affairs of Cambodia), and Ms. Neema Lugangira (Secretary-General of WPL), who jointly discussed the leadership role of women in digital policy formulation. With the rapid advancement of digitalization and AI, digital policies are deeply impacting the global economy, industrial development, and social governance. In this context, the imperative of female leadership is gaining widespread recognition from the international community. The forum highlighted that women should not only be users and innovators of digital technology but also active participants in policy design, institutional building, and the drafting of international rules. At the critical juncture approaching WSIS+20, digital governance requires an open, multi-stakeholder collaborative model, enabling women from diverse countries and backgrounds to co-create the global digital future. 499 Group will continue to collaborate with Her Symbiosis to promote women's technological innovation and leadership on broader international cooperation platforms.
