#WATCH# | Panchkula, Haryana | Rajasthan Congress leaders stage a protest alleging detention of 18 Rajasthan Councillors ahead of the Tijara Chairman election. Panchkula ACP Ramkumar says, "There is no truth to this allegation. Some of their councillors did leave Shimla yesterday. Apparently, there was an election. They went missing somewhere along the way. We will trace their mobile numbers and locations... But the police had no role in this matter." Congress leader Pradeep Choudhary says, "Local body elections are underway in Rajasthan. Imran, who contests from the Tijara constituency in our district, worked very hard and secured victories for 19 out of 35 councillors. He had taken these 19 councillors to Kasauli, along with their families, totalling about 82 people. The election was scheduled for today. When they left Kasauli last night, they were intercepted at the Chandimandir Toll Plaza by 20 police vehicles, some without number plates. They were forcibly removed from their own vehicles and made to sit in police vehicles. They were then taken to Morni and detained there overnight. Our people reached the location in the morning and recorded a video. The police arrested two individuals and confiscated their phones. Later, our people reported that the vehicles had moved and were now stationed at the Morni police outpost. Our people waited at Mandana, anticipating whether the convoy would head toward Chandimandir or Panchkula. The DSP claimed their location was between Shahabad and Rohtak, but this is a blatant lie. They had already left Morni. By the time they travelled from Morni, they would indeed reach the area between Shahabad and Rohtak. This is a brazen act of coercion, a blatant murder of democracy. That is why the people from Rajasthan arrived here. They reached at 4 AM, and we were informed at 6.15 AM. We have been with them since 7 AM."
