It's a pandemic! This week alone, three major data breaches affecting French public services were disclosed: - Tax authorities: 700,000 people affected - Ministry of Education: 1.22 million students and 4.35 million staff exposed - Public healthcare subcontractors: 6.8 million people affected These incidents are yet another reminder of what happens when massive amounts of personal data are collected, centralized, and inadequately protected. Under DAC8, crypto service providers are now required to collect personal and transaction data on their users, with that information to be reported to tax authorities and shared between European tax administrations starting in 2027. It is only a matter of time before this data ends up in the hands of criminal organizations, putting crypto holders, their families, and even people who happen to live at an address previously associated with them at risk. For this reason, Bull Bitcoin is legally challenging the implementation of DAC8 in France.
