The other day, the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, openly told a member of the House of Representatives to cause problems within the ADC party. He said it openly and shamelessly, without any caution whatsoever, directly admitting that the Presidency has a hand in destroying the opposition party. Today again, the same Chief of Staff is publicly admitting that President Tinubu is directly directing the affairs of the Lagos State House of Assembly. He even admitted how the President summoned him, shared intelligence, and instructed him on what to do during the leadership tussle. Desmond Elliot has surely taken the fall. The same Chief of Staff also loosely admitted how the President has promised him something huge on the condition that he drops his gubernatorial ambitions. I know Tinubu is old and frail, but the kind of people he has surrounded himself with perfectly explains the state of his governance. These are people who will never be diplomatic when protecting his interests, who won’t tell him the hard truth, and who don’t know how to properly carry the weight of high office. Tinubu has surrounded himself with executive charlatans, and it is a damn shame.
