Melissa Farris just got indicted for turning the World War II Memorial into a prop. Soap in the fountain. Red paint on the stone. She filmed it. Then she talked like America owed her a stage.
That granite is not a billboard. Sixteen million served. Four hundred five thousand never came home. She used their names as background for her grievance.
A workplace fight does not entitle you to a spray can. Courts exist. Agencies exist. Cameras exist that do not require you to scrawl a slogan on a tomb paid for by a grateful country. She picked the cheapest stage in Washington and called it courage.
This was not protest. It was contempt. You do not honor the dead by making them stand next to your complaint.
Jeanine Pirro charged it as a federal crime. Two counts. Ten years each if she is convicted. The hearing is September 3. I want the maximum the statute allows. Anything less tells the next vandal the Greatest Generation is optional.
We keep watching people treat American memory like a playground. Then they act stunned when a prosecutor shows up. There should be a bill. There should be a sentence.
Farris disparaged the men who beat fascism so she could play martyr on Facebook. Unforgivable. Charge it. Try it. Sentence it like their sacrifice still counts.
Remember who that memorial is for. Not her.
