I’ve traded enough memes to realize the best ones usually have one thing in common: People want to own them for a reason beyond just selling them higher. Could be the culture. Could be the meme itself. Could be the community. Maybe it actually does something, generates revenue, or has some other economic value attached to it. It doesn’t need all of that. It just needs something real enough that demand exists beyond the chart. Think about art, watches or rare cards. Most of them don’t produce anything either. They’re valuable because people genuinely want to own them. Memes aren’t that different. A simple question I ask myself now: If the chart stopped going up tomorrow, would people still give a shit about owning this? If the answer is yes, there’s probably something there. If the only reason anyone owns it is because they think the next guy will pay more, you’re not really buying the meme. You’re betting on the next buyer.
