World Labs released Atlas,--a multimodal world model. It may speed up how humanoids are trained and deployed in factories, warehouses, construction...
Before a humanoid/robot enters a real workspace, a small set of on-site recordings can reconstruct the scene in simulation and capture how objects move and interact. Once the task runs in sim, objects, poses, robot motion, lighting, and background can be varied to produce diverse training data and large-scale test environments--real2sim2real
That shortens the path from capture to training and lowers the cost of bringing a new scene into distribution. However, contact force and tactile data still require the physical robot.
