I have 450 miles to drive today. My options are 1. MB Sprinter Van (16mpg) (I can sleep in there when I’m tired) 27gal x $8.00 =$216.00 2. 2018 ModelX P100D (I don’t get tired. I just relax) 128 kWh x .40 = $51.20 The least efficient Tesla ever made will save me $165.00 today in fuel alone. I’m being generous on the diesel cost and conservative on the electricity cost. I’ll be starting with a full charge at a much lower rate than that. I also can get a lot of work done and safely handle a lot of calls out on the Open road. My time is extremely expensive this week. I have a shit ton of things to do aside from lots of shit posting. The value of my time today that I will get back is worth at least $1000 to me. Bare minimum. And that’s why I’m having trouble keeping the battery charged on the $110k sprinter van.
