I've been experimenting with the latest version of opencode, and the experience has been largely positive. Previously, opencode felt underwhelming compared to Claude Code, which offered a more polished experience across the board. However, opencode has since significantly closed the gap in many areas and now provides the added benefit of integrating with third-party models. Over the past day, I've been using it with Grok Code Fast 1, and the speed has been impressive. That said, opencode could still improve in areas like support for copying and pasting images, though the drag-and-drop functionality is a solid workaround. There are so many AI coding assistants out there and it sure seems like we are spoiled by all the development that is going into these tools.
