Many older leaders - Trump, Xi, Putin may have become more AI pilled after hearing that this technology will dramatically accelerate progress and potentially help develop aging reversal therapies within their lifetimes. All of them have a pretty big chance of seeing that happen. They’re not that old: 80, 73, and 73. Plenty of people nowadays live into their 90s. And with ASI driven acceleration, aging reversal technologies could potentially arrive as early as ~2030. A more conservative scenario would be 2032–2036. Even if regulations move slowly, but ASI has already figured out a combination of therapies by 2028–2030, we would just need a few extremely old, bedridden, people in their 100s or late 90s to try some still unapproved, "underground" experimental therapies. If we then see that it’s really working and appears safe, we will see a flood of people in their 90s and 100s rushing to do the same. I’ve said this many times in the past. IMO, most boomers will live long enough to see aging reversal technology. As leaders see more AI driven breakthroughs in medicine and healthcare, I think they will become even more supportive of AI development and acceleration.
