On July 13, 2026, the United Kingdom sanctioned these individuals, as well as Bashev’s company, OOO Impuls, for conducting and enabling cyberattacks on behalf of the Russian General Staff Main Intelligence Directorate Unit 29155, in concert with European Union sanctions levied against Russian state-sponsored cyber actors. Additional individuals involved in GRU Unit 29155’s cyberattacks were previously indicted by the Department of Justice in September 2024.
