EDUCATIONAL REPORT 🚨🚨
🚨TOPIC: HAPATITIS B
Hepatitis B is a liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV).
It spreads through blood, semen, or other body fluids (sex, shared needles, or birth).
Many cases are mild or asymptomatic; some become chronic and can lead to cirrhosis or liver cancer.
A safe, effective vaccine prevents it. Chronic cases are managed with antiviral drugs.
Symptoms of Hepatitis B
Many people (especially with chronic infection) have no symptoms.
When symptoms do occur (more common in acute infection), they may include:
•Fatigue / weakness
•Loss of appetite
•Nausea or vomiting
•Abdominal pain (especially upper right side)
•Dark urine
•Jaundice (yellowing of skin and eyes)
•Joint pain or low-grade fever
Symptoms usually appear 1–4 months after infection and can last weeks to months.
