Mike and I launched Blockworks in dec 2017. Started as an events company, rode the market down for 2.5 years, then emerged from the bear with a ripping media business. Then everyone gets over levered. Market turns. We adjust in the bear and emerge with a research platform and the inklings of a data business. Bull gets crazy, business grows massively. Then bear again. This has been our third bear market. We made tough decisions the last two years (cut news, etc) all with the goal of emerging with a generational business that we’d be stoked to build for decades to come. We hired the absolute best people we could find across the entire industry. Went all in on data. Acquired Messari. And built products for enterprises, fintechs, and financial institutions. And now we’re emerging. We’re not out of the woods yet but the light is clear. And damn do I feel good about the position that Blockworks is in. Never been a better time to build in crypto. Onwards!
