Dr. Leslie Teo explains how AI could help Singapore tackle labor shortages caused by one of the world's lowest fertility rates: "I shouldn’t be overenthusiastic and say every problem can be solved by AI. Humans, we like to work. I like to work. But perhaps this gives more time for other things in life, as we have more AI do the boring routine stuff." "If it gives us a bit of confidence that we can bring kids up and they can have a good life, hopefully the fertility rate will go up." "But this is a big problem in Singapore. It’s been 30 or 40 years of trying to move the fertility rate. It is a challenge that we are shrinking. We can help that by having immigration, but there are also limits to it." "If you come to Changi, the main airport in Singapore, almost all the toilets are being cleaned by robots with AI. That’s a job that humans maybe don’t wanna do so much." @AISingapore
