AI agents are giving entrepreneurs the ability to run far more work in parallel.
That creates a new problem:
Your agents can multitask.
Your brain can’t.
If you have coding agents building one product, Grok Bot running operations, another agent researching opportunities and another working on GTM, your biggest bottleneck can quickly become context switching.
You’re constantly asking:
Where were we?
What changed?
What decision do I need to make?
What was I thinking last time?
That mental reload has a cost.
Here are 7 things I’d do to protect my focus:
1 - Give every project one clear owner
Know which agent owns the work and what still requires you.
2 - Keep a live project state
Every project should have a short record of where it stands, what changed and what happens next.
3 - Force agents to return decisions, not information dumps
Tell me what changed, what matters and what you need from me.
4 - Batch projects into review windows
Don’t let every agent interrupt you whenever it finishes something.
5 - End every session with the next decision
Leave yourself a clean re-entry point before switching projects.
6 - Separate “needs attention” from “FYI”
Most agent output should not earn your immediate focus.
7 - Limit how many projects can actively require your judgment
Agents may let you run 20 things.
That doesn’t mean your brain should be actively managing 20 things.
AI is massively increasing what one entrepreneur can execute.
The next skill is learning how to stop all that leverage from destroying your focus.
