Recent research reveals that Gen- z who use gen AI are those who hate it the most. The study surveyed U.S. young people ages 14 to 29 and found that usage remains high and stable. More than half use generative AI regularly or weekly, while nearly three-quarters use chatbots at least monthly. Only 18% now feel hopeful about AI, down from 27% the previous year. Excitement dropped to 22% from 36%. At the same time, 31% reported feeling angry about AI, up from 22%. Many have deep concerns that AI shortcuts make future learning harder, with 80% agreeing and 69% believe it makes people lazier, and 65% say it promotes instant gratification over critical thinking and real understanding.
