Major brands are appearing on pirate websites more often, according to a new report from the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The study found that major brands made up 36% of all ads on monitored pirate websites in 2025, up from 20% in 2024, thats an 80% increase in one year. Researchers monitored 5,671 websites and 337 mobile apps across 18 EU countries plus the UK and US estimated these pirate sites generated around โ‚ฌ382 million in advertising revenue in 2025.
