decompdev, a website created to track video game decompilation projects and connect the community, is being shut down. The creator has stopped people from adding new projects because of a recent flood of what they call โ€œvibe codedโ€ decompilations and native ports. Basically, too many projects were being submitted that rely heavily on AI-generated code rather than genuine reverse-engineering work. This made it harder to keep the site useful and trustworthy. decompdev was meant to be a central place to see which games were being decompiled, how much progress had been made, and who was working on them.
