SCOOP: An illegal immigrant from Mexico was just indicted by a federal grand jury for voter fraud, false statement in a passport application, unlawfully possessing a firearm, among other crimes. Between at least March 2017 until about June 2026, Fredy Avila Gomez allegedly devised a scheme to defraud government agencies, both federal and in Idaho, including Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services, and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, according to @TheJusticeDept. Gomez allegedly fraudulently obtained Idaho ID cards using a false and fraudulent birth certificate and falsely claiming to be a US citizen. He allegedly used the IDs and birth certificate to fraudulently obtain a passport, Medicaid benefits, and a firearm. Gomez also allegedly falsely claimed to be a US citizen to register to vote and thereafter voted in May 2022 and November 2024.
