I don't understand why open weight models would lead to AI communism. Model companies are not the only type of company that enables AI! Presumably many companies would exist that would compete to create better AI infrastructure. And the economy is larger still! There are so many services one can provide on the basis of open weight AI models. Data from @stripe shows a large increase in small business formation due to AI. This would still be the case (and presumably even more so) with open weight models.
