K519 is a skeleton of a leptolepidid fish collected from Dorset in 1989. Leptolepidids were small, agile fishes that likely formed dense shoals. As an early branch of modern teleosts, they are important for understanding the origins of today’s vast diversity of ray-finned fishes.
