Remittance platforms only monetize one side of the transaction, the sender.
The receiver's money is already earmarked to be spent. Stephen Sikes (COO, @public) on the latest episode of Tokenized with host @sytaylor said adding a spend card on the receiving side lets a platform capture that second stream of interchange, without moving away from its core business of moving money across borders.
He put the upside at roughly double the interchange economics compared with sender-side monetization alone.
