I find it interesting that Norway and Iceland are the only two Scandinavian countries that opted to stay out of the EU.
Norway and Iceland are the two most North Atlantic countries of the five. Their economies were historically built around highly valuable resources lying within nationally controlled waters — especially fish, and in Norway’s case oil and gas.
That gave both countries something Sweden, Finland and Denmark lacked:
the economic luxury of saying “No” due to Geography and Natural Resources.
