First: "No, I've never bought Apple. I wish I had."

Then he said IBM carried less risk of being badly wrong, that he could not get to the conviction needed to buy Apple, and that he would not short it either.
Then Berkshire opened a position in May 2016. 9.8 million shares.
By February 27, 2017, he put the stake at about 133 million.
He said he did not buy it as a tech stock. He bought it for the ecosystem and how Apple deployed its capital, and said none of that required taking apart an iPhone.
