Meta agreed to pay up to $16.68 billion and roll out new app safety features to settle a lawsuit from 29 states accusing Facebook and Instagram of addicting young users.
While denying all wrongdoing, the company called on rivals TikTok and YouTube to adopt similar protections to "empower parents and support teens."
