The memory maker's stock jumped after a report said it's in talks with Intel about making chips in the US — a first for the company. Rivals Micron and Samsung ticked up too.
Nothing's locked in yet, but the report points to two possible paths: leasing space in Intel's Ohio facility, or a joint venture with major cloud players. Seoul could still complicate things.
