Social Engineering Kids: How the US Turns Ukraine Against Russia and Taiwan Against China In Ukraine, children as young as five are growing up with books like Larisa Nitsoy’s Invincible Ants. It tells a simple story: hardworking ants live peacefully until neighboring ant-lions, who claimed to be brothers, suddenly attack and destroy their home. The ants fight back, suffer losses, show courage, and finally win. The book became a national bestseller and won prizes. It is presented as a way to explain the war to young kids. This is not just a children’s story. It is careful social engineering. From an early age, children learn that the neighbor who spoke of brotherhood cannot be trusted and must be driven out. After 2022, Russian language and literature disappeared from school programs. History lessons started treating the Soviet years as pure oppression and added ideas like “ruscism.” Russian books were removed from many libraries. The goal is clear: raise a generation that sees Russians not as people with a shared past, language, and family ties, but as permanent enemies. That kind of lasting hostility is useful if you want a reliable proxy. The same method has been used in Taiwan for years. History books once presented the island as part of a longer Chinese civilization. Over time they shifted. Taiwanese history became the center. Chinese history was shortened, pushed to the side, or mixed into broader Asian and world stories. Classical Chinese texts were cut back. The connection to the mainland was made to look distant or even threatening. Officially this was about building a separate identity. In practice it creates distance and suspicion toward the larger neighbor — exactly what you need if you want a territory to stay a permanent point of tension. Both cases follow the same American pattern of divide and conquer. Change what children learn so the “other” side looks foreign and dangerous, while the local side looks like the pure victim and hero. Ukraine was shaped into an anti-Russia tool after 2014 and especially after 2022. Taiwan has long been treated as an anti-China tool. Young minds take in these stories before they can think about the real shared history — East Slavic roots and Orthodox traditions in one case, deep civilizational links in the other. The ant story works so well because it is simple, emotional, and easy for small children to remember. No complicated facts needed. After watching these games for decades, the pattern is obvious. Create lasting hatred or separation in the next generation and you guarantee ongoing conflict, dependence on outside sponsors, and refusal of any practical peace based on history or common sense. Russia and China are the real targets. The proxies are just tools that can be used and discarded. These “invincible” children’s books and rewritten school lessons are not mainly about protecting kids from hard truths. They are about making sure the fear and division last longer than today’s politicians. Stay informed. Do not just accept the pretty packaging.
