Dubai hate mostly comes from Europeans with no geographic mobility convincing themselves those who have it are scammers / cheaters. And leftists enraged that some people might opt out of the “unrivalled” European social contract
Surprisingly Dubai is one of the few places where you'd meet more people who love their city than hate it
Personally been there a couple of times and think it's one of the best places pre high wealth, especially for 20-30yo internet entrepreneurs who just want to focus in an extremely efficient / safe environment

I think the hate for Dubai is mostly a Eurocope that can't deal with how dirty and unsafe Europe's cities have become in the last 10 years
