Three years ago I sat across from
@harjtaggar,
@garrytan, and 3 other partners for my YC interview.
Ten minutes, and they grilled me the entire time!
It felt way longer. I was certain I had bombed it. Then, that evening, Harj called me: "You're in."
That was the start of Warp. We didn't have a full product or revenue, just initial sketches of the platform and a problem we were obsessed to solve.
The path there wasn't obvious. I grew up in India, came to the US for MIT, and spent years working on large-scale machine learning before starting Warp. People thought this space was an odd place to start an AI company. But we had a clear thesis.
This week, we announced our Series B with $85M in total funding. We're 50 people in NYC, scaling fast.
And I got to sit down with Harj again, this time for Founder Firesides.
We talk about:
→ Why I bet on an "unsexy" problem, and why that's exactly the point
→ What "AI-native" actually means, and why it favors technical founders
→ Where employee management goes from here
Grateful to Harj and YC for the call that started it, and for betting on us before there was anything to bet on.
