Yes. One thesis is that Xi Jack Ma’d Jack Ma so that Jack Ma couldn’t Elon Xi. Meaning: Xi seized Jack Ma’s assets and drove similar Chinese tech founders into subservience or exile, so that Jack Ma (or someone like him) couldn’t use his fortune to challenge the ruling Party, like Elon did in America. So: in China, the State won over the Network. But in America, the Network won over the State. Elon freed speech with X, and tech freed media with AI and freed money with crypto. Technologists did not bend the knee to the ruling Democrat Party. That’s the alternative outcome. Now yes, it is still possible (and indeed likely) for some of the assets of the Internet to be seized by the American State, particularly by Democrats, particularly in Silicon Valley. I also expect physical violence against immigrant technologists, mostly from the left on the basis of class, but possibly from the right on the basis of race too. And this will be ugly. But fundamentally the Internet has decentralized enough that this will only be a fatal blow for those unfortunate enough to be physically resident in failed American states like California. Because today the Internet is much bigger than the Democrats, and blues have lost so much IQ over the past few decades that they’re not going to be able to shut it down. They already tried with the censorship and regulations, and they lost. Democrat wealth seizures and anti-tech violence will cause pain, but it just isn’t going to stop the global Internet. Thus: the Western State is in decline. And the successors are the Eastern State and the International Network.
