Data Center Interconnect Data Points

I have been talking a lot about scale-across and the fact that AI clusters are increasingly going to spread across separate buildings, campuses and regions.
Dell’Oro just gave us some nice data points
> Optical transport equipment grew 15% YoY during Q2,
>Data-center interconnect revenue grew 45%
> Disaggregated optical line systems grew 80%.
>Cloud providers now represent 34% of the entire optical transport market.
Data-center interconnect (DCI) is basically the optical network connecting separate data centers.
If an AI cluster gets too large to fit inside one building, or power availability forces the GPUs to be installed across several locations, those sites still need to exchange enormous amounts of data and operate as one larger system (scale across)
That extends the optical opportunity beyond the short links inside the building and into the coherent equipment carrying data across kilometers.
$CIEN and $NOK are currently the leading vendors in disaggregated optical line systems, so this is a very direct readthrough for both.
