BREAKING: FBI agents have arrested a suspect who ignited an incendiary device outside a New York City federal building.
According to authorities, the individual poured a liquid, set off fireworks over it to start a small blaze, and was armed with a pellet gun. A federal employee and a bystander sustained minor injuries but have since been treated and released.
NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani released a statement:
What occurred outside 26 Federal Plaza this morning was deeply disturbing. I’m relieved no one was seriously injured and that a suspect is in custody. My team is in touch with the NYPD and we will support the federal investigation.
